BICHO RARO

Heads, Performances and Photos

This performance art project was created by Natalia Restrepo Restrepo, Colombian artist, researcher and art professor, Mônica Lóss, Brazilian multimedia visual artist and Brazilian photographer Mariana Kobal. The goal of the Bicho Raro project was to activate sensory clothing and explore images related to concepts such as the strange, the stranger, the other, the residual, contagion and distance; of that which is in between what we show and what we hide. It was enacted in Downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan between Main Street and the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA) on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at a unique moment in time, in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic, when social distance measures were relaxed.
